Khvamli Plateau
The Khvamli Plateau, located at an altitude of 2002 meters, has been known since ancient times as the place of storage of royal treasures. The massif is covered with many myths, including the legend of Prometheus chained to a rock. The mountain is made up of limestone, which has led to the formation of numerous caves where people have been hiding from enemies for centuries. One of these caves, Tekenteri, is famous for its lake with clean cold water. At the top of Khwamli there is a small chapel where the religious festival of Khwamloba is held. The plateau is a popular place for trekking and pilgrimage.
