Mikhail Khergiani Museum
The Mikhail Khergiani Museum in Mestia was opened in 1983 and is dedicated to the outstanding Georgian mountaineer Mikhail Khergiani, who was seven times the champion of the USSR in mountaineering. Khergiani was known as the 'Tiger of the Rocks' due to his daring climbs to the most difficult mountain peaks. The museum presents his personal belongings, climbing equipment, medals and photographs.
