Shkhara Glacier
The Shkhara Glacier is located at an altitude of about 2600 meters, at the foot of Mount Shkhara. The path to the glacier begins in the village of Ushguli, one of the highest mountain settlements in Europe. This route attracts tourists with its stunning scenery and accessibility, the duration of the trek is about six hours. The glacier is an important part of the ecosystem of the Caucasus, but its condition is changing due to global warming.
